As you can well imagine, there are times when no one needs Chiropractic care more than our troops. The value of Chiropractic is now well-recognized by the government, but only 54 percent of our troops have easy access to Chiropractic services. To make sure our troops get treatment, the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (FCB) has launched a new database to provide information that will guide our troops to chiropractors who will give them the help they need.

To date, a lot of progress has been made in providing Chiropractic for military personnel:

Legislation has been passed establishing Chiropractic care benefits for both active-duty personnel and veterans.

There are chiropractors in 60 military bases across the country, and in 40 major veteran treatment facilities.

There is even a chiropractor stationed in the U.S. Capitol to treat members of Congress.

Nevertheless, there are troops who are not close to those facilities and many do not know how to get help.

The database, called “Military Corner” and on the FCB website, aims to solve that problem.

It includes lists of Chiropractic clinics with the Department of Defense and Veterans Administration, information on official policy regarding Chiropractic care and on patients’ rights – such as how to get a referral to a chiropractor outside the system – and other pertinent data.

There is still a lot to do to make Chiropractic care available to all our troops. The Veterans Administration, for example, does not have chiropractors established at 120 major facilities.

However, the Military Corner database is a big step in the right direction. Anyone who has friends or family in the military who are having difficulty getting the Chiropractic care they need should be referred to this site.
