More and more people are on the search for pain relief and according to the results of a recent study, it appears many people are turning to Chiropractic to alleviate their pain.
A national telephone survey, conducted by the Media General Research firm, revealed that 42% of consumers have experienced back pain within the last 12 months.
According to the survey, Chiropractic was rated the number one natural treatment choice and among patients who saw a chiropractor, 91% reported their care as “very” or “somewhat” effective.
While most people associate Chiropractic with back and neck pain, the survey revealed that Chiropractic treatment is emerging amongst patients suffering with headache pain.
Results of a study conducted last year by researchers at Duke University, showed that Chiropractic was highly effective in treating tension headaches. Patients experienced long-term pain relief and fewer side effects than patients who were treating their headaches with medicine.
More than 3 million people in the United States visit one of the 60,000 chiropractors in the U.S. each year.
